Author Guidelines

The Journal of Informatics Education and Research welcomes original, high-quality research contributions in the fields of informatics, education, technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, management, interdisciplinary studies, and related research areas.

Authors are advised to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting manuscripts.


1. Scope of the Journal

Manuscript Structure

Authors should organize manuscripts as follows:

  9. References

Additional sections such as acknowledgments, funding statements, ethical approval, and conflict of interest declarations may be included where applicable.


4. Title Page Requirements

The title page should include:

  • Full title of the manuscript
  • Author names
  • Institutional affiliations
  • ORCID IDs (recommended)
  • Corresponding author details
  • Email addresses

To support double-blind peer review, author-identifying information should not appear in the main manuscript file.


5. Abstract and Keywords

Abstract

The abstract should:

  • Clearly summarize the study
  • Include objectives, methods, findings, and conclusions
  • Be concise and informative

Recommended length: 150–250 words.

Keywords

Provide 4–6 relevant keywords.


6. Formatting Guidelines

Authors should ensure:

  • Consistent formatting throughout the manuscript
  • Proper headings and subheadings
  • Clear tables and figures
  • Sequential numbering of tables and figures
  • High-resolution images where applicable

7. Citation and Referencing Style

Authors should follow the referencing style specified by the journal.

References must:

  • Be accurate and complete
  • Include DOI links where available
  • Match in-text citations

Authors are responsible for ensuring reference accuracy.


8. Ethical Requirements

Authors must comply with the journal’s:

The journal follows ethical publishing standards recommended by:

  • International Committee of Medical Journal Editors

9. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as:

Manuscripts containing plagiarism, unethical similarity, fabricated data, or manipulated content will be rejected immediately.

Authors must ensure originality and proper citation of all sources.


10. Use of Generative AI Tools

Authors using AI-assisted technologies or Generative AI tools must:

  • Disclose the use of such tools
  • Verify all AI-generated content
  • Take full responsibility for the manuscript

AI tools cannot be listed as authors.


11. Peer Review Process

JIER follows a double-blind peer review process.

The review process includes:

  1. Initial editorial screening
  2. Plagiarism check
  3. Expert peer review
  4. Editorial evaluation
  5. Final decision

Editorial decisions may include:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final publication decision.

Authors retain copyright of their published work.

By submitting and publishing in JIER, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to:

The copyright status and licensing terms shall be clearly indicated in the published article.
