Abstract
The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Financial Technology (FinTech) has revolutionized the Indian financial sector, offering unprecedented opportunities for efficiency, innovation, and growth. However, this technological advancement also presents significant legal and regulatory challenges that need to be addressed to ensure sustainable and ethical development. This paper explores how the current Indian legal framework is navigating the complexities introduced by AI-driven innovations in FinTech. By examining key areas such as data privacy, algorithmic transparency, cybersecurity, and ethical considerations, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the existing laws and regulations, including the Information Technology Act and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. Through case studies and comparative analysis with international legal frameworks, the paper highlights the strengths and gaps in India's approach to regulating AI in FinTech. The findings underscore the need for a proactive and adaptive legal framework that balances innovation with robust regulatory oversight, ensuring the protection of consumers and the integrity of the financial system. Recommendations for future policy directions and areas for further research are also presented, aiming to foster a secure and innovative FinTech environment in India.
