Abstract

Adaptive learning technologies are becoming increasingly popular in higher education as a way to improve student learning outcomes and engagement. These technologies use algorithms and data analytics to tailor learning materials to the individual needs and learning styles of each student. This paper reviews and analyzes existing literature on the effectiveness of adaptive learning technologies in higher education. The findings suggest that adaptive learning technologies can improve student learning outcomes, engagement, and retention rates by providing personalized learning experiences, identifying areas of weakness, and promoting mastery-based learning. However, there are still challenges and limitations to the implementation of adaptive learning technologies in higher education, such as issues with data privacy and security, cost, and resistance to change.
