THE ROLE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY IN HIGHER EDUCATION: EXPLORING ISSUES, CHALLENGES, AND INITIATIVES
Main Article Content
Abstract
The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in higher education is transforming con- ventional teaching methods while addressing some of the main challenges associated with accessibility, quality and efficiency. ICT supports enhancement in teaching, learning, research, and administration by fostering a transition from teacher-centered instruction to student-centered learning. Tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual classrooms, and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offer flexible and customized learning experiences. Theoretical models like constructivism and connectivism facilitate this shift by focusing on interactive and technology-based learning.
